Retailers use a range of methods to assess the quality of an individual store's daily operations. Some of these are snapshots, like individual Yelp ratings or mystery shopper scores. Others are broader reflections of quality over time, such as staff turnover rates, cumulative ratings, manager tenure, or how long a particular franchisee has operated the store. These tend to be secondary data points that impact a store's performance but don't represent your bottom line. A store with terrible ratings can still be highly profitable, but one would generally expect that all other things being equal, a store with higher ratings will outperform one with lower ratings. 5.
