Look Before You Lease: Keys to Site Selection and Renewals
7
Include visibility and accessibility
in your criteria
Let's say your site is perfectly placed on the busiest street.
That's great, but if people can't see or access your store, that
site is a dud. Maybe one of the points of interest that made
the site appealing is actually blocking people's view of your
store f rom that busy street. Or you're right on the street,
but the nearest parking lot access is a quarter mile away. Or
worse, maybe there is no parking lot, and your customers are
stuck fighting for limited street parking.
As you compare sites and analyze opportunities, be sure you
have standardized criteria for evaluating how visible and
accessible each location is.
