The Rise of the Hybrid Workplace: Strategic Opportunities for the Post-Pandemic Office
16
If at least some of your employees can theoretically do their
job offsite, it's worth looking into creating a hybrid workplace.
But not all jobs can be performed f rom home, and if that's
the case for your employees, this may not be the right
direction. For some positions virtual collaboration simply isn't
feasible. Others may depend on resources and equipment
you can't ship to every employee's home, or environments
that are difficult to replicate without a dedicated space.
Many companies resist WFH arrangements because people
in leadership want to see people working, rather than simply
seeing the work. Or they may need to change directions
f requently and want to make sure employees are available
when they need them. That's OK. Some companies may
need more accountability or control to maintain production
or maximize revenue.
The decision to be hybrid or not all comes down to what kind
of space your workers need to get things done, and what it
takes to create that kind of environment.
