GHG Emissions Inventory In 2024, Tango had three corporate offices based out of Dallas, Texas, New York City, New York, and Zurich, Switzerland. These sites create direct emissions from activities under their control, including stationary combustion on site and fugitive emissions from residential and commercial refrigerators and AC. The corporate offices also consume electricity which generates indirect emissions during its production. Together, scope 1 and 2 emissions account for approximately 33% of our footprint. Our upstream and downstream value chain activities cover emissions from purchased goods and services (a new category we collected data for this year), data centers, business travel, and employee commuting. Our scope 3 emissions account for approximately 67% of our footprint. Our overall emissions increased due to the acquisition of a new company, the addition of an office in Zurich, Switzerland and expanded data center operations in Australia. Our NYC office significantly outperformed energy and emissions expectations. While a typical office of this size would use 94.2 MWh and emit 41.7 MT CO2e, Tango's actual usage was just 8.9 MWh, with emissions at 3.91 MT CO2e - an 80% reduction in electricity use compared to our peers. This efficiency is driven by our flexible work policy where employees only worked out of the office 1 day per week.
