When you can track utilization and plan and
manage your space from the same system,
making adjustments is simple—stack
planning and scenario planning can help
solve small optimization problems, too. And
as you become better acquainted with
modern IWMS solutions like Tango, you'll
get more comfortable with the ongoing
optimization of your office space. It's what
we like to call real-time occupancy
management, and it's how corporations,
nonprofits, and government agencies will
operate the offices of the future.
Office optimization is an ongoing process.
Major reconfigurations may only happen
periodically as goals, needs, and budgets
change. But if you want an office to be
optimized for a specific purpose, you'll
need to react to new challenges, trends,
and changes in demand that arise over
time.
For example, there won't always be an
adequate alternative space to the rooms,
neighborhoods, or workstations that are
most in demand. And employee
preferences and behaviors are bound to
change over time as well—especially as the
employee population itself changes due to
turnover and new hires. You might also
discover that your optimization efforts
removed an underutilized space that was
actually essential for a particular type of
work or activity (which may have simply
been uncommon).
