Ross Leibowitz envisions a similar future,
though he notes that even in a tight job
market, offering remote work will be key to
accessing the best talent:

2025 Workplace Predictions: Prediction #3
"High-performing employees are
going to decide where they want to
work or how they want to work," he
says. "Companies will have a hard
time finding the people they need if
they limit their search to the regions
they have offices in. HR would have
issues with that. HR may tell current
employees they have to be in the
office, while hiring new top
candidates for remote or hybrid."
John Vivaldi, Tango's former EVP of
Workplace Solutions, sees employees
having less leverage over time in 2025, and
according to the Wall Street Journal,
workers are starting from behind: "The
employer-employee power struggle is
currently in the employer's favor.
Businesses are using strict rules
enforcement to make an example of rule-
breakers or reduce payroll without having
a real layoff."
With a new presidential administration
taking the reins, it may take time to see
ripples from policy changes, but for better
or for worse, the job market is likely in for
some changes, which will impact who
works from home and how often.
