Sustainable Development (SD)
Development that meets our present needs without compromising the ability of
future generations to meet their own needs, i.e., contributing to global warming or
using up resources.
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
The 17 global goals for development for all countries established by the United
Nations. They include ending poverty and hunger; ensuring health and well-being,
education, gender equality, clean water and energy, and decent work; building and
ensuring resilient and sustainable infrastructure, cities and consumption; reducing
inequalities; protecting land and water ecosystems; promoting peace, justice and
partnerships; and taking urgent action on climate change.

TCFD
The Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures was created by the
Financial Stability Board. TCFD is a guidance framework that helps companies
disclose climate-related financial risks to investors, lenders, and insurers. TCFD
recommendations are focused on governance, strategy, risk management, and
metrics and targets.
Temperature overshoot
The temporary exceedance of a certain level of global warming, such as 1.5°C.
Tipping point
The point at which small changes become notable enough to cause a larger, more
critical change that can be sudden, irreversible, and even lead to cascading effects.
Transmission and distribution loss:
Electric en-ergy lost during the process of transmission and distribution. Much of the
energy lost is thermal.
