Renewable energy resources
Energy resources that are naturally replenishing. They are virtually inexhaustible in
duration but limited in the amount of energy that is available at one time. Renewable
energy resources include biomass, hydropower, geothermal, solar, wind, ocean
thermal, and wave and tidal action.

Renewable fuels (other)
Fuels and fuel blending components (except biomass-based diesel fuel) renewable
diesel fuel, and fuel ethanol, produced from renewable biomass. Note: This category
"other" pertains to the petroleum supply data system.
Renewable Energy Credits (RECs)
Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) are tradable, non-tangible commodities that
represent proof that 1 MWh of electricity was generated from a renewable energy
resource and was then fed into the shared system of power lines that transport
energy.
