15 How to Successfully Transition to a New Work Model: The Leader's Guide Copyright © 2024 Tango. All rights reserved. As you roll out the transition to your new work model, your space utilization data shows you how employees interact with your ofce space. Sometimes, you'll discover ways that you may want to adjust your plan. But more likely, you'll discover ways to help employees adjust to the plan. For example, suppose there's a meeting room that always seems to be booked, making it difcult for employees to nd the space they need to collaborate. With access to your space utilization data, you can see the days and times that meeting room tends to be available, as well as alternative spaces that have similar capacity or capabilities. By communicating proactively with employees and keeping them informed about the best ways to nd the space and resources they need, you can eliminate friction and improve employee satisfaction. It's also worth bearing in mind that even if you're simply transitioning back to a model you've used before, your employees may have vastly different needs and expectations than they had last time. Your actual employee population may have changed substantially as well. Are there more employees who live outside city limits or out of state? More diversity? Stronger preferences for a particular kind of work? Or more experience with the model you're returning to? For example, they may expect to reserve parking spots, lockers, amenities, equipment, and other shared resources that used to rely on a rst come, rst served system. You'll need to ensure your reservation software can accommodate your ofce's specic needs.
