7 Ways to Use Your Proprietary Data in Site Selection

One of the most important components of site selection
is creating accurate site models. Without these, you
can't reliably compare and analyze locations. A good site
model accounts for all the variables that contribute to a
location's performance. And part of that comes from your
store attribute data.
A restaurant with more seats and greater square footage
obviously has greater capacity to serve customers. But
you'll want to get even more granular than that. How
many outdoor/indoor seats does each location have?
What's the counter configuration? Bathroom capacity?
Any characteristics of the store that affect the kind of
experience it can provide or how many customers it can
safely and comfortably serve should factor into your site
modeling.
It's also worth including attributes like the last remodel
date, open date, and even close date—because looking at
closed stores is valuable, too.
