5. Offering a limited variety of
spaces
Not everyone works best in the same kind of environment.
And some types of workspaces are more conducive to
particular tasks, processes, and activities. Limiting your
office hoteling space to one kind of workspace (or only a
couple kinds) prevents some employees f rom working in
the environments they'll find most productive It also hinders
your ability to learn which types of spaces your unique
employee population prefers.
When someone needs to do a lot of work that requires
deep thinking and intense concentration, they may prefer
to reserve an enclosed space like a phonebooth office,
where coworkers are less likely to interrupt them. As teams
come to campus together, they may want to reserve an
entire neighborhood of workstations, an outdoor space, or a
dedicated collaboration room.
Experimenting with various kinds of spaces helps your
business meet a wider range of employee preferences and
optimize your office space to fit their needs.
